Commitment to RoHS Compliance
The adoption of lead-free technology, driven by legislative requirements and market forces, has involved significant changes in the materials, processes, and supply chain in the electronics industry
Beginning on July 1, 2006, ASE will enter the age of lead-free electronics in Europe. After that date, products sold into EU states (25 countries) will have to comply with established threshold values. The European Parliament has taken these steps to protect and improve the quality of the environment, to protect human health, and to use natural resources rationally and prudently. The removal of lead from electronics brings massive changes not only for ASE and our customers, but for all other companies in the supply chain.
ASE hereby represents and warrants that all of the assembly products manufactured and delivered by ASE, its subsidiaries or affiliated companies, for the purpose of sale or providing assembly service to customer, will be in conformity with RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) and the criteria, requirements and specification as set forth in the European Directive scheduled to officially take effect on July 1 2006.
